Frequently Asked Questions

  • Registration occurs one day per season until all spots are filled, like tickets to a concert. Registration dates and times are announced here.

  • Founded in 2009, the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA) develops interscholastic mountain biking programs for student-athletes across the United States. The Crimson Cliffs MTB Team currently operates within the NICA organization. You can read more about NICA and their mission here.

  • CCMBT Practices are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting in June. They are held early in the morning in the summer (ending at 8:00 am) and after school (ending before sundown), once the school year starts. The practice schedule will be available on TeamSnap beginning at the end of May.

  • Reach out to your group coach and let them know you will not be there.

  • Never send your child out if their coach has already left. If you get to practice late and everyone is gone, please take your child home and we will see you at the next practice.

A race day email will be sent out the week of the race. This email will include directions to the venue and any/all questions you might have before the race begins. Please read the email thoroughly to answer any questions you might have. Hotels close to the venues sell out quickly. We recommend reserving a room before the season starts to ensure you get one.

  • Every parent is required to volunteer at LEAST once during the season per rider. An email will go out with a list of duties for each race. These include things from helping at the feed zone to hauling our trailer. Your kids will try harder when they see you cheering them on and helping them to have a successful race. If being at the race isn’t possible, we do have opportunities to help us purchase things like water, granola bars, etc. If you can’t find something that fits your needs, please contact Becky Goimarac (435-668-4405); she will help you find something that works for you. We also want to say THANK YOU! We are here first and foremost to have fun and teach your child to learn to love riding their bike. Even if they don’t plan on racing, getting your child on their bike is our #1 goal. Meeting new friends and getting active is a bonus. Parents are what help make this team what it is today. We couldn’t do it without you!

  • The most important thing to consider is the rider's height, weight, and skill level to ensure you get a bike that fits them properly, is well maintained, and is appropriate for their abilities. This is more important than any “brand name” or model. Heavy consideration should also be placed on how the bike will be used during the off-season and the motivation for joining the team.

  • In addition to a bike and helmet, there are quite a few other items required to ride. Please check here for the complete list.

  • Practice jerseys are provided as part of your team membership fee. Your race kits will need to be purchased separately. Read more about this here.
